Veteran Bollywood Actress Farrukh Jaffar who acted in many Hindi films like Peepli Live, Swades, Tanu Weds Manu and many more passed away on Friday in Lucknow at the age of 88 due to brainstroke. Farrukh’s grandson Shaaz Ahmad took to twitter to share his grandmother’s demise:

Actor Ayushman Khurana mourn the death of his Gulabo Sitabo co-star’s death through Instagram story. He wrote “Begum Gayin, Rest In Peace Farrukh Jaffar Ji”.

She began her career with Vividh Bharti Lucknow in 1963 as a radio presenter before started acting in prominent Hindi films. Farrukh Jaffar made her film debut with Muzaffar Ali’s classic Umrao Jaan released in 1981 in which she essayed the role of Rekha’s mother.

She was the wife of Ex – MLC and former UP Congress chief, S.M. Jaffer. She also acted in other superhit films like Sultan where she played the role of Salman Khan’s grandmother, Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar and was lastly seen in Amitabh Bachhan starrer Gulabo Sitabo in which she essayed the role of Fatima Beghum.
According to recent updates, her last rites will take place on Saturday at Aishbagh Qabristan. Among her forthcoming films is Mehrunisa in which she played the title role, was premiered at the IFFI Goa earlier this year.
