IPL LIVE: Kings XI Punjab defeated table leaders Delhi Capitals by five wickets to keep their play-off hopes alive at Dubai tonight.
Opting to bat first, Delhi posted 164 for 6 in 20 overs riding on Shikhar Dhawan unbeaten 106 runs off 61 balls. Dhawan has become the first cricketer to score back to back centuries in the IPL. For Punjab, Mohammed Shami scalped two wickets.
In reply, Punjab overhauled the target with five wickets and an over to spare with the help of Nicholas Pooran’s 53 off 28 balls and Glenn Maxwell’s 32 off 24. For Delhi, Kagiso Rabada took two wickets.
With this win, Kings XI Punjab have gone to the fifth position in the points table with 8 points from 10 matches while Delhi Capitals are still at the top of the table with 14 points from 10 matches.
Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday, Oct 21 at Abu Dhabi.
