Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given it’s nod for Emergency Use Authorisation to Johnson & Johnson’s single dose Covid-19 Vaccine.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya made this announcement on his twitter handle:

Johnson and Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India.
Now India has 5 EUA vaccines.
This will further boost our nation’s collective fight against #COVID19

The EUA submission of the vaccine is based on topline efficacy safety data from phase 3 clinical trial, which showed that company’s single shot vaccine had 85% effectiveness in preventing severe complications and showed protection against Covid-19 related illness and death, beginning from 28 days of vaccination.
Till now, Government has given Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to five Covid-19 Vaccines, namely:
- Serum Institute’s Covishield.
- Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.
- Russia’s Sputnik V.
- Moderna’s Covid-19 Vaccine.
- Johnson & Johnson’s Single Dose Vaccine.
